Message From the Principal

Dear Families,

On Wednesday, the cooler weather provided the perfect conditions for our Cross Country Carnival. Well done to all our students for their efforts running the race and pushing through to the finish line. There were great examples of resilience when students had a fall, jumped back up and continued the race. We have a lovely example of compassion when a student in the leading group stopped to help once of their peers. Once they were ok, they took off again to finish the race. Thank you to all our parent helpers and staff who set up and manned the stations around the track. And a big thank you to Miss Connell for training the students and running another smooth carnival.

Our staff completed professional development over Thursday and Friday. The two days provided time for faith formation with presenters from Perth flying up to lead sessions. One of our groups worked with Sr Catherine Warner, Presentation Sister and former St Paul’s principal, who shared stories about her time in Karratha, the importance of developing our faith and being an example for students.

Next week the events continue for juniors and uppers, the junior swimming lessons begin, and we have the Winter Carnival. We look forward to our junior students improving their swimming skills and wish our participants all the best for their sports!

I hope families are able to enjoy the five day weekend. We look forward to seeing everyone return on Tuesday.

To recognise Reconciliation Week, the classes designed Deadly Doors. Thank you to Miss Talbot who organised and helped classes with their designs.  We also have the Sea of Hands in the canteen area. Make sure to have a look if you are at school.

P&F News

On Friday, June 21st the P&F are hoping to hold a Colour Run after school for our students.

To do this, they need 10 – 15 parent helpers.

If any parents are available to help, please contact the P&F via email – parentsandfriends-stpaulskarratha@cewa.edu.au

Cross Country

On Wednesday, 29th May St Paul’s Primary School held our Faction Cross Country Carnival. We were blessed with nice cool weather and witnessed great cheering and efforts from all our competitors. Special thanks go to all the parents who helped out, without your help days like this just aren’t possible.

Congratulations to all our age division champions and runners up, who showed great determination and skill during their races!

ICAS Competitions

We know our students are amazing, so we’re giving them the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their talents in the world-renowned ICAS competitions this year.

What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee, and Digital Technologies.

Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year. Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
